marginaliana gave me three things which I may or may not know or care about.

1. aardvarks

I never read Cerebus, or at least not more than a few pages. I had a friend in high school who had all the graphic novels up to that point in time. He warned me that they were already starting to get weird, and not in a good way. I guess I was fortunate in that.

2. oil painting

The thing that I find weirdest about oil painting, other than the basic foreignness of being able to draw in the first place, is that you layer the paint. I always just assumed that it was like pencil drawing (or, let's be honest, crayons--I'm not very sophisticated when it comes to creating visual art) where you just kind of have to get it right in a single layer. But with oils you can layer the paint on for depth, or for mixing in the colors for particular effects... It's weird.

3. shoes

I have more shoes than I thought I did. I have a pair of everyday walking shoes, boots, tai chi shoes, dress shoes (loafers), a pair of cute pumps, a pair of running/athletic shoes, slippers, and some old shoes that I use to go into the backyard/garden. (Ok, I may have lied about one of those.)

Now I feel like I have to make an educated guess about the shoes. I think we can take everyday walking shoes as given. I know you have slippers and cute pumps. Are tai chi shoes a thing? I feel like that might be more of a barefoot activity. Then again, this is the US, so maybe they are a thing here for weird cultural foot reasons.

I'm going to go with the running/athletic shoes as the lie. Yes?

I don't actually have any cute pumps. Perhaps the time you thought you saw me with a pair there was something that could have affected your memory?

(Though I really should have some...)

I can't believe I was wrong about the pumps! Must have been that lovely agave juice, darn it.

(okay, the label on that icon says 'tiger,' but it reeeeeally looks like a giant tiger face tattooed over someone's ass cheeks.)
